Colts Win

March 12, 2010 — In the CJHL last night, the Cornwall Colts beat Nepean 3-2.

Colts Close Out Season With Win

March 07, 2010 — The Colts finished off their regular season yesterday with a wild 9-6 win over the Nepean Raiders in front of almost 1,500 fans at the Ed Lumley Arena. And this game will only help to stoke the playoff flames as the two teams are set to face each other in post-season action starting this Thursday. Saturday's game seemed comfortably in hand for Cornwall as they built up a 7-1 early in the third period but then Nepean exploded for five goals of their own in the final frame to avoid a blowout. Mathieu Ouellette and Kevin Cole led the way for the Colts with three points each in what was a penalty-filled affair. Cornwall finishes the regular season with a record of 41-16-1-4 and sits second in their division behind Brockville.

Colts Roar Back For Win Against Rangers

March 05, 2010 — The Colts banged in four unanswered goals in the last half of the third period last night to beat Gloucester 6-4 at the Ed Lumley Arena. Trailing 4-2 with less than eight minutes to go, Cornwall turned it on and skated away with two points from a stunned Rangers squad. Once again captain Jacob Laliberte was a force as he bagged five points on the night with three goals and two helpers. Eric Ming also chipped in with three assists for Cornwall. Goalie Doug Carr made 26 saves for the win after being named the leagues MVP earlier in the week. The Colts close out their season tomorrow in a match-up against Nepean and will be the third seed heading into next week's post-season play.

Colts Carr Named CJHL's Most Valuable Player

March 04, 2010 — The strong play of goalie Doug Carr this season has earned Cornwall's puckstopper the league MVP award. Despite an almost two month layoff due to injury, Carr is statistically ahead of all other CJHL goalies overall and currently sits in third place with a 2.46 goals-against-average in 37 games. The honour is voted on by the league's coaches and general manager's. Carr will leave Cornwall after this season to play NCAA division 1 next year for UMass-Lowell.

Akwesasne Gets Set To Welcome New Hockey Team

March 03, 2010 — A new hockey franchise is coming to the Cornwall area but you'll have cross the St. Lawrence river to have a look. The Federal Hockey League will officially introduce a team in Akwesasne tomorrow. The squad will play out of the A'Nowara'Ko'Wa Arena which is on Cornwall Island. The FHL is a Class A professional hockey league and the Akwesasne team will be its fourth franchise.
